The Washington Post reports on the tragic news of the Apple community’s most beloved Apple Store fan:

There are plenty of goofballs — like me — who stand outside Apple stores all night waiting for the company’s latest, thinnest, must-have offering.

There was nobody like Gary Allen, who died Sunday from brain cancer at 67.

It was because of ifoAppleStore that I discovered Apple had begun hiring for its 4th UK store, to be located in my home town. As a result, I worked for Apple for over six years and the experience and time there has defined both my career and myself.

If it wasn’t for Gary and his site, I don’t think I would be where I am today. More importantly, I don’t think I’d be who I am today. He’ll be sadly missed and my thoughts are with his family.
