If you use FaceTime or Messages on multiple devices (e.g., iPhone and iPad), it’s a good idea to make sure that each of them have the same caller ID. This makes sure that whoever you’re calling or texting will know it’s you.
For instance, a friend of yours may only have one particular email address and phone number for you. If you have a few email addresses associated with your Apple ID and your iPad’s caller ID isn’t the email address your friend has, a FaceTime call from you can appear as an unknown caller.
Ensuring a consistent caller ID can also help prevent multiple Message conversations with the same person-a common frustration with iMessage.
